About Us

Attica was founded in 2023 by award-winning photographer Van Middleton.

Van began his working life as a journalist, and moved into wedding photography in 2012. He has shot more than 600 weddings around the world. In recent years returned to the Gold Coast to shoot locally and raise his family.

Van describes his wedding photography style as simple & natural. His strength is emotive, candid photos that tell the story of the wedding day in a way that isn’t cliched or forced. This has become the ethos of Attica: to document a wedding day in a way that is both real and beautiful.

We aim to create a feeling of beauty in our work, and we genuinely believe the most beautiful photos are those that are unguarded. We do guide our couples, and we do involve ourselves in the process, but we also believe in capturing the events of the wedding day as they unfold as much as possible. We want our couples to remember their wedding day in our images, and to be surprised and delighted by them. Beyond the photography, we’re also able to offer advice, support, and good vibes along the way.

We also put a huge emphasis in the quality of our product. We work hard after a wedding, editing and making sure every image is perfectly crafted in our post-processing lab.
